We know that people are pretty interested in “stuff” with the MySQL logo/name on it. Like, last year’s anniversary mug was pretty popular, as are the t-shirts we hand out at various conferences. So we’re working on more! We’re the only ones who can make this happen, since it involves our trademarks.
This is your chance to tell the MySQL community team what kind of stuff you would like to see, and do feel free to be quite specific (like colour for t-shirts, etc). Tell what you would like: geek wear, baby wear, underwear?, mugs, caps, stickers, …
The photo on the left is of my daughter Phoebe (10 months old now), with possibly the smallest MySQL shirt in existence (this one was custom printed). This just to give your creativity a nudge.
Also, if you have any cool/funny sloguns in mind, now is the time to suggest that too.
Either send a comment to this blog entry, or write to community at mysql dot com.
Thanks!
Phoebe is very precious.
How about:
MySQL bumper stickers, key chains, pens, koozies
MySQL Chicklets (hey there’s an idea 😉 )
MySQL vs YourSQL
MySQL vs YourSQL. Anytime!
MySQL is better than YourSQL
MySQL wants you
Remember Sakila
Fetch, Sakila. Good Sakila

MySQL: Slim, Lean, Mean and Ready.
MySQL: Project Friendly
MySQL: Now with Sakila
I ride with Sakila
MySQL: There is no LIMIT
MySQL: SELECT me NOW()
MySQL: Query me baby!
MySQL: DELETE * FROM project WHERE database != ‘MySQL’
MySQL: SELECTing the world one DBA at a time
Me and my wife could go on and on but we don’t wanna over do it 🙂

I would like a MySQL tie, and perhaps a keyhole.
While I like T-shirts and mugs, some new things would be needed, to show that MySQL is growing.
It does not have to be for free. I’d be glad to buy some of them, if they were available.
In addition to the usual T-shirts, I’d like to buy a shirt (something like this http://www.thinkgeek.com/apparel/golfshirts/6620/ .)

I’d really like to replace my oracle mousepad with a mysql mousepad.
Cluster specific shwag.
Cluster mug would be cool. With a bunch of machines and something.
Also, the mug should have two handles. I’ve seen this done before (think SGI did it).
Pants. track pants with sakila. everybody has shirts. we could have pants too!
a big demand for linux.conf.au merch is shirts that are designed for the female body shape. so various forms of that would be cool.
jacket. just sakila on the back (embroidered). like those baseball jackets.
also, none of this stuff with leather.
the roll up network cable thing. but with mysql on it. all employees would love it.

I sent some suggestions yesterday. Hope you got them.

Tie died dolphin t shirts with “MySQL 5 (The best batch yet)” on the back.
How about a apple macbook with a mysql sticker on it?
that would be great swag 😉
pens are good as they get passed around alot, for australians’ a bag you can use for your shopping similar to the ones the supermarkets are trying to sell you might be useful as well.
