Staying awake on-site

Well, I arrived yesterday in San Francisco yesterday morning…. a colleague picked me up from the airport, and we went for a short hike. It’s good to stretch legs and get some sunlight to help reset the bodyclock.

Visited our Cupertino offices, hadn’t been there before.
(and couldn’t resist taking a picture of Apple HQ’s address nearby which has been a long-term favourite of mine “1 Infinite Loop” 😉

The main task of the day was “staying awake”. If you just go to sleep at any time, that’s no help at all getting over the jetlag.

Now I’m already at the Westin in Santa Clara, where the MySQL userconf will be.
Looks like a very decent place though the Hilton across the street appears to be cheaper for dinner 😉
Some colleagues from MySQL AB are arriving today, most others tomorrow.
I also went for a short walk around the hotel this morning… saw two squirrels and a sunbird.

Back to the conf, I saw yesterday’s registration report and we have an absolute record number now. Brilliant. It’s going to be a great conf, for sure.
