MySQL & MariaDB Galera Cluster Workshop

Product: MySQL/MariaDB
Audience: High Availability

You will learn how Galera’s synchronous replication/clustering changes the way you architect your MySQL or MariaDB infrastructure. But it’s all good, as it actually makes things easier and might enable you to use less hardware. In addition Galera provides some scope for write-scaling, which is particularly useful for applications that don’t do read/write splitting.

Interactivity and exercises are an integral part of the day, providing an optimal environment for gaining new skills and reinforcing best practises. The classroom provides a safe environment to experiment and break things on purpose!

This course day is useful for DBAs who have a decent familiarity with MySQL, but the day also has high value for DBAs and system administators who already have experience with other databases, as many aspects of this topic are MySQL/MariaDB specific.

We also coverer classic/multi-master replication vs Galera for high availability (classic replication itself is a separate workshop).

Note: this module is also suitable for clients using “stock” MySQL + Galera, or Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC).
