Open Query

With the increase in data technology there is more and more data being generated and stored. This massive data store is now offering some benefits by utilising techniques created in data mining and OLAP software. These tools allow us to do statistical analysis on large datasets with relative ease and optimise the use of both data and storage space.

Open Query has experience in working with large databases in our work to date and this has lead into the area of business intelligence and data mining. The field of building data warehouses and analysing data using OLAP techniques is becoming more integrated with the standard company database and ERP systems. Open Query has focused on open source technologies that implement business intelligence, workflow, data warehousing and report generation into an easy to manage, scalable solution for your business analysis needs.

Report Generation

Reports can be generated in the software that we support using a range of different components. The reports can be written in the commonly known open source report tools JasperReports, jFreeReports or the BIRT report tool. These tools can be used to generate reports in multiple languages and can be parameterised to allow dynamic reports for users.

OLAP and Business Analysis

OLAP tools are available to do analysis on the data stored in the data warehouse. These include the ability to define cubes with dimensions, hierarchies, measures etc. These can then be queried and pivoted to do analysis. Query languages are supported such as MDX, XML/A and XQuery as well as traditional SQL queries.
