MySQL at OSCON

David Axmark is one the MySQL AB Founders who will be at OSCON in Portland next week.
There’s a grand session States of the Databases scheduled for Wednesday 3rd August, 1:45pm, look at a range of Open Source databases and where they’re at. David will present the MySQL “State of the Dolphin” as part of this session.

But, David will not be the only one there from MySQL AB… see if you can spot one of the MySQL people, and tell them how your’re using MySQL. If you have any concerns, do discuss those as well. Face-to-face meetings are an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and often lead to very interesting discussions, either one-on-one or in bigger groups.

Unfortunately, due to the hassles surrounding the arrival of my baby daughter, I had to cancel my own scheduled presence at OSCON this year. One of my tutorials (Optimizing MySQL) had been accepted into the program. This same tutorial will now be given by my good friend Zak Greant, who I’m sure will do just fine and teach well. He’s an excellent speaker with a great sense of humour. Do sign up, learn and enjoy!

It’s like a continuing saga with me and not being at OSCON… I do hope to finally be there next year.
