First weekly winner in the MySQL 5 contest: Andrew Gilfrin

Congrats Andrew, you’ve won yourself an iPod nano!

Andrew has been actively scribbling about MySQL 5.0 for some time now, both on his blog (which is aggregated to Planet MySQL) and on his site MYSQLDevelopment.com with has an impressive array of articles and practical examples dealing with the new features in MySQL 5.0. I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback from users about Andrew’s work also. Great!

  3. I used to work with the man at Microsoft years ago and believe me he’s a legend. He left a long time ago but he’s still the bench mark.

  4. Hi Andrew here…

I was away in Jamaica last week when the result was announced so I’ve only just got back to the great news.

To be honest it was somewhat of a suprise, when I started blogging in response to the call for bugs and blog entries for 5.0 RC it was more an effort to aid other people to get started with testing rather than for me to win.

Thanks also to all the people who have given me kind words and encouragement. When I started MySQLDevelopment.com and my blog it was a personal goal to learn the new features of 5.0 if has helped anybody else that’s a huge bonus for me.
